I have always felt this way too! I am 18 as well and already dreaming about being out of school and doing what will make me happy! Traveling the world is just something I have always dreamed of. I don't think it is odd at all for you to dream about being on your own, as someone who also lives with her parents, freedom sounds pretty great right now!
People always say you miss school, but I've been out for a year and don't miss it at all! You get so many opportunities like travelling and you can plan your future, It's great :)
To me, 4 years of high school were just a wasteland holding me back from bigger and brighter things! I don't miss it one bit. The future is full of opportunities and I can't wait to see how it all plays out!
